Three 10mm thick aluminium plates for heated press
veneers under heated pressure
My new veneer press brings a much needed addition to my workshop. Beautifully constructed throughout by Marcus Sly, a skilled cabinetmaker, using ash wood with 32, 22mm screw threaded clamps. Lengths of timbers provide pressure for short work, or a 6ft by 3ft solid MDF sheet when large panels are pressed. In addition, three 10mm thick aluminium plates can be heated over a 3kw heater, when hot pressing is required. The unit is portable by means of four heavy duty lockable casters. I have been searching for this type of press for some time and I am immensely grateful for this latest acquisition. My vacuum press will only be needed now for pressing curved surfaces.
